Jesus loves children, and often compares a relationship with God to be like a child’s relationship to a good father: trusting, loving, and safe. In fact Jesus affirms the value of a child in a culture where children were not so valued. Because Jesus has a heart for kids, Kid’s Rock makes it a mission to teach our kids their value in Christ, and to teach them the amazing love of the Father as Jesus did.

Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
— Matthew 18:3

KidsRock also has a heart to see not only kids, but their families and their family’s friends begin a new and deeper relationship with Jesus. Our desire is that we see more and more children welcomed home in to the arms of their loving Heavenly Father, and that whole families get to know the incredibly good news of the Gospel.

What does KidsRock look like

Kid’s Rock gathers on the second floor of our building on Sunday Mornings while the adults gather to listen to God’s word on the main floor. Each Kid’s Rock gathering is filled with stories of who God is and what He has done, words that God has spoken, and promises of God that we get to keep through games, story times, activities, play, song and arts.

The Rock Church Sunday gatherings begin at 10.00 am for coffee and we being worship at 10:30 am. We encourage all parents to arrive early for our 'Pre-Service Check-in' to help save time. Kid’s are dismissed to enjoy their KidsRock gathering after our singing around 10.45 am and adults may collect their children from KidsRock before communion around 11.30 am.

What we teach

The curriculum we use is called The Gospel Project for Kids, the overall aim is to help teach kids to:

See the Big Story: Kids will understand that the Bible is not a collection of stories, but God’s unified story of redemption.

Read Scripture as Christ-centered: The Leader Guide and Activity Pages provide a deep, Christ-centered Bible study experience for all ages.

Grasp Essential Christian Doctrines: The Big Picture Questions and Answers are designed to help kids understand essential theological doctrines of the Christian faith.

Study the Old and New Testaments: Kids spend equal time in the Old and New Testaments, learning the key distinctions of each and how they fit together.

Who leads Kid’s Rock

Because we value and love children so much, it’s important to us that those who lead a Kid’s Rock gathering know and love Jesus, are a member of The Rock Church, and have all the necessary criminal background checks as well as KidsRock training.

How you can get involved

If you have never been involved with a children’s ministry, no worries! Parents are always welcome to bring their children to a Kid’s Rock gathering. We encourage that you can be a part of this ministry by sitting in with your child for at least one Sunday gathering that you might know what we do with the kids and that you might know how to compliment what we do on Sundays with the rest of the week.
