Elders • Ministry Team
Glenn Davies • ELDER • Lead Pastor
Glenn spent 30 years in the marketplace before answering the call to full-time pastoral ministry and planting a new church in Squamish.
Glenn began preaching God's Word very early on in his Christian faith. Inspired by several expositional preachers of the past 50-60 years, he often preached in the local churches he and Janice attended, as well as travelling to speak throughout the Lower Mainland for several years.
His primary passion is to teach God's Word, verse-by-verse, through books of the Bible so that men and women will understand what it says, be changed and transformed by the Holy Spirit and challenged to do what the Word of God says.
He and his wife Janice, a registered nurse, moved to Squamish in February 2009 with two of their three sons, Matthew and Jonathan to plant the Rock Church.
Rudi Botha • ELDER
PASTOR of Evangelism & OutreacH
Rudi and Jeanne Botha moved to Canada in 2011 from South Africa with a sense of God’s calling on their lives to reach the ends of the earth and the nations with the gospel message of Jesus Christ. After having lived in Williams Lake for 7 years, where Rudi worked as a high school teacher and Jeanne as a family physician, they moved to Squamish to be equipped and trained for ministry and have played an active role in The Rock Church through their service and love for the people of Squamish.
The Bothas have two children, Miriam and Daniel, and they enjoy travelling, skiing, hiking, camping and love watching ‘Paw Patrol,’ ‘Superbook’ as well as rugby together as a family. Jeanne has a love for family-medicine, anaesthesia and obstetrics and provides vital health-care to new moms and babies in the Sea-to-Sky corridor. Rudi has a passion for discipleship, prayer and sharing his faith with unbelievers. He leads a team of servants with the mandate of equipping The Rock Church for the work of sharing Jesus through outreach and missions. Rudi also oversees the operation of The Ledge Community Coffee House which functions as The Rock’s Ministry Centre in downtown Squamish.

Kevin became an Elder at The Rock in 2022 and has attended the church since 2019. He is married to his beautiful wife, best friend and ministry partner Pat. Kevin has a heart for worship, the Bible and seeing people saved, set free and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be all that God has designed them to be.
Prior to coming to Squamish Kevin was an elder at a fellowship in Ontario for over 25 years, worship leader and Bible quizzing director. His personal interests include watching football, hiking, golf and cooking. He has three adult children and 8 grandchildren.
JoSEPH Hutchison - ELDER
Joseph and his wife Jennifer were working with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Australia when they felt called to move to Squamish with a word to get ‘qualified’ in late 2020. Joseph is currently working on his certificate in accounting while using this season of life to start a young family. Together Jennifer and Joseph have a passion for reaching the unreached, spending time in the presence of the Lord, and discipling young men and women. Jennifer also has a deep heart for worship and seeking truth in scripture, while Joseph is passionate about prayer and living zealously for Christ.
They now have two young boys, Nathaniel and Frederick, and love being part of The Rock Church, “A community of believers who have loved and served our family well and who we seek to love and serve, as a response to the love of Christ.”
gavin Hamblin - Elder
Gavin and Dawn moved to Squamish in 2019 and immediately joined The Rock Church, having previously served at one of The Rock’s sister churches in Vancouver.
Gavin works as an executive in the private club industry and Dawn has graciously paused her career as a medical technologist to stay at home with their three young children: Emmett, Elliott and Esmé.
Gavin and Dawn feel blessed to be part of the family of believers at The Rock Church. They have a passion for discipleship and a desire to see the Body of Christ flourish and grow in The Sea to Sky Corridor.

THOMAS JANZEN
Director of The LEdge Operations
Thomas grew up in northern Saskatchewan. He pursued biblical education at Briercrest Bible College & Seminary and then becoming a mechanical engineer in Saskatchewan. Engineering brought him to Squamish in 2021 where the continued calling out of engineering eventually led Thomas to The Ledge and The Rock Church Ministries. Thomas has a heart for discipleship and to see the body of Christ grow and mature (Col 1:28-29). Spending a short time living in Africa as a teen opened Thomas’ heart and mind to think of the world outside of Canada. As a result, he also serves with Onebook Bible translators to see the Gospel message translated into new languages yet unreached.
