FAQ

How to get connected?

Whether you’re new in town, just curious or searching, there’s a lot of ways to get connected at The Rock. Every week we gather together on Sundays for worship and meet in smaller, community groups during the week. We also have a couple of ministries for men, women and kids.

If you would like to be put in to contact with someone at the The Rock, feel free to get in touch through the link below.

What’s the deal on Sunday?

On Sunday mornings, we gather at our Ministry Centre better know as The Ledge Community Coffee House Monday - Saturday. If you have children or toddlers, they are invited to participate in our KidsRock or Pebbles program. KidsRock is for children in grades 1-5 and we have two programs for toddlers and a nursery.

What will the Sunday gathering be like?

The Rock is a place where we keep it simple and relaxed, but focused.  We're not much into putting on a show because we believe that Jesus is enough. That's truly why we exist. To make Jesus known and especially to those who may have heard about him (who hasn't right) and want to find out why and how those who do believe that he is the Son of God have come to believe it. Simply put, we're all on a journey of discovering who God is, what he has done, who we then are, and how then we should live.

What does the pastor talk about?

The sermons at The Rock are based on the teachings of the Bible and practical in nature.  We like to point out that, despite what you've may have heard, the Bible actually doesn't say anything. Matthew, Mark, John, Dr. Luke, Peter, Moses, Jesus and many others have however! We believe that God wants to be involved in our everyday lives, so we present the ageless truths of the Bible in a format that’s easy to understand, even if you’ve never been to church.  Typically, we go through one book of the Bible in its entirety so we may fully understand what it has to say and what it means for us today.  Jesus is always the hero of every story & every sermon.

What should I wear?

Clothes. At The Rock, you’re welcome to wear whatever you’d like. There is no set dress code, although the attire is more on the casual side.  Our community celebrates individuality and all senses of style. Just be you.

Do I have to bring money, or tithe?

No – you never have to pay for your seat.  Guests are encouraged to be our guests.  No velvet pouch, wicker basket, plastic bucket or stainless steel offering plate will be passed around.  We are a member-supported Jesus community and we’re just glad you took the time to join us on a Sunday.

What about my kids?

KidsRock ministry offers classes for elementary aged boys and girls, grades 1-5.  Older children (11 and up) are encouraged to hang with the adults in the main gathering.

Can I invite my friends?

Please do.  We seek to be a welcoming community for people who are curious about Christianity, skeptical about Jesus and religion, or who are seeking to belong to a community of believers.
